The long version of my résumé. Every site, app, side project, job and school I’ve worked on, newest at the top. The wins are short, the failures are long, and I keep them all on one page because the failures are the part I actually learned from.

My first macOS app. It lets you paste screenshots into your Claude Code running on your remote machine. This is the first time I’m launching something that I actually use myself daily.
The new version of the norbertkiss.com website, the one you’re on now. It has desktop and website modes, three separate themes and color options, a few hidden easter eggs, and a bunch of features in the background that I find useful (like being able to email essays and news to the site).
Tried to ride the OpenClaw wave, by making it easy for people to set up OpenClaw in a click of a button on a Hetzner VPS. Couldn’t get anyone to use it though. I guess people who were interested already knew how to do that stuff, and people who didn’t know weren’t interested to begin with.
2025
My first real webapp. Lets people generate portraits and product shots of themselves from a few phone photos. Also packaged a few free utility tools — background remover, heic→jpg, upscaler. Made some money but never reached the scale I’d hoped for.
Made a directory website listing all Hungarian dental practices. I was aiming for a long-tail SEO play + trying to sell websites to dentists. I made the custom website before contacting them and I cold-called and cold-emailed hundreds, but only got one interested, and even he didn’t want to pay. Apparently they are quite happy with their crappy websites.
Made a Hungarian web app for students to find great places to travel to for cheap. Never launched, because it wasn’t good quality.
Tried to ride the "Ghibli" wave (do you remember?) when OpenAI released GPT-4o image generation.
I really need to spend some time on this, but I think the idea is solid, and it made a miniscule amount of money even in this form.
2024
The original version of this site went live in 2024.
Made websites for a few SMBs in Hungary, but couldn’t really get good money from them. It was my first vibe-coding experience and I also started to learn to code around this time.
2023
I worked in the Computational Economics & Finance department. Built Python pipelines for ML-driven volatility forecasting on simulated market data. Also helped with some teaching materials.
Made a few swiss friends here!
2022
Our startup mentor hired me to be a project manager for their USA / CA / UK projects. Worked with a lot of startups, a few big companies, and wrote and coordinated the company’s first ESA tender.
Planned to volunteer at a children’s hospital, but they never called back. The OR hired me on the spot because they were short-staffed. I worked there for a month, and assisted in ~60 brain and spinal surgeries without any medical qualifications.
2020
Empirical research on admin and alternative datasets (employment, health, education data for 5M+ Hungarians). Aided two policy-cited working papers on the labour-market and fertility effects of decreasing the compulsory schooling age.
2019
Started a precision-agriculture IoT startup with friends. We developed smart weather stations and insect sensors. Raised €200k pre-seed across two rounds, had a team of eight people at the end, shipped hardware. Sold in 2022.
Valuation Risk Management team. Left after seeing what my boss’s boss’s boss actually did day-to-day.
2018
Took Advanced Macroeconomics & Business Economics there. But I didn’t move into the dorm (as I was living with my wife and best friend). Ended up leaving after a year.
I spent the summer working as a supervisor for field workers with my best friend. We barely worked and made pretty good money that summer. Spent our time chilling, drinking, swimming and just goofing around.
Interviewed Hungarian SMEs about lean management practices and KPIs. Helped with data preparation and some minor econometrics work.
2017
Same thing as last time, just with more people and more alcohol.
Moved to Budapest for university. Lived with my wife (then girlfriend) and my best friend in an apartment. Amazing times!
2016
I got some of my friends from high school to join me and we detasseled corn, built a fence for the cows, stacked hay bales by hand, took care of the animals together. We also had an amazing time together, swimming, doing archery, cooking and BBQing together.
The owner promised 1000HUF/hour net + festival tickets + night shift bonus on top. I worked the night shift the whole time, didn’t get any festival tickets, and he ended up paying me only 600HUF/hour.
2015
Worked there for a week. Wanted to see if I should study to be a lawyer. I didn’t.
2013
Met my wife here! Took advanced math, history and english.
2005
Went to a christian primary school. We had an amazing class (lot of smart kids) and we’ve won a bunch of math and physics competitions. Also won some local and national swimming and kayaking championships.
